Professional Qualifications
I received my Bachelors Degree, majoring in Psychology, from the University of Denver. I worked for 12 years in the mental health field before
receiving my Masters Degree in Professional Counseling from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology. I have specialized training in play
therapy and issues of child abuse. My therapeutic practice includes treatment regarding child abuse, self-esteem, adaptation into new cultures,
premarital counseling, parenting issues, relationship issues, and mental illness.
Therapy Style
I work with clients in a collaborative way. The process and of therapy depends largely on the goals and feedback of those participating in therapy.
All families and individuals have strengths, and it is the reliance on these strengths that improves the qualities of our lives. I believe that working from
our strengths gives us all the opportunity to experience the best that life has to offer.
I will do my best to work with clients in a way that feels comfortable for all involved. Client comfort level and active participation in therapy is essential
to producing positive change. Please feel free to ask questions or provide feedback throughout our working relationship.
Client Population
I work with individuals, couples, and families. I do not discriminate on the basis of race, age, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, disability, gender, health
status, religion, national origin, or sexual orientation. I speak English, Italian and American Sign Language fluently. I have a wide range of
experiences living outside this country.
I was born in Italy and moved around a lot
as a child, as my father was in the Army.
As an adult I have lived in Denver,
Colorado, Italy and Egypt. I moved to the
Twin Cities in 2000 in order to pursue my
educational goals.
I love to sing and am an active participant
in the Twin Cities Women’s Choir. When
its cold, I like to snuggle up and read a
good book. In warmer weather, I enjoy
biking with my dog, Bodhi.
